'QUESTION TIME' Style Debate Print E-mail
WEDNESDAY 21 OCTOBER 2009 - 'Question Time' style evening - a "Never-Before" event.

The people of Devon and Cornwall get a chance to grill local Criminal Justice leaders, in a Question Time style debate, chaired by BBC News 24's Philip Hayton.

The event is designed to give the local community direct access to people who work in the criminal justice system, so they can get a greater insight into the way the system works, why and also why certain decisions may have been made on local criminal issues.

The Question Time panel, chaired by top news presenter, BBC News 24's Philip Hayton, will be made up of a mixture of members of the justice community, including Chief Crown Prosecutor - Tracy Easton, Assistant Police Chief Constable - Paul Netherton, Governor of HM Prison - Mark Flinton, Rural Racism Project - Elliot Perkins and leading members of the media including Alan Qualtrough, Editor in Chief of the Western Morning News.

Attendance is free! Anyone interested in attending or asking a question to the panel should submit their request to the Local Criminal Justice Board ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or telephone 01392 452594). The closing date for this event (and for questions to be submitted) is Friday 2 October 2009.

The event will be held at the newly refurbished St. Mellion International Resort and will run from 6.30pm to 8pm. Clips will be run on YouTube, so those who could not attend will still be able to see the event.
